So the word on the street is that Honda is thinking about bringing this cute (from certain angles) little roadster to the US with a beefed up 1L turbo engine (instead of the 660cc engine it has in Japan).

Kinja'd!!!

By the time any of us see it it should be below 2000lbs and making 150hp.While that's an impressive weight for a modern car it still doesn't make my heart race. Couldn't they have pushed it to 200hp? To me that should be the cutoff for any car built in 2015.

I guess I just need to spend more time driving Miatas in order to properly appreciate what a good light weight, low HP, car can do.

What do you guys think? Would you buy one?

The Car and Driver article I stole the pictures from said that a 6'2'' driver can fit somewhat comfortably in the driver seat.

I doubt it's coming here. It's at least a full size class smaller than the Miata and is really much more of a Copen rival. It would be very difficult and expensive to re-engineer it to meet American crash test regulations, since Honda never made any provisions for sale here during the design process.

I think Honda is only considering the 1.0 for Europe, not America.

That said, the S660 is one of the only cars that I would consider buying before test driving it.

They've been pretty open about how they are working on an export version of the car, and according to car and driver that export model is ear marker for the US. For what it's worth I agree with you, I doubt we'll see it, but that's what the rumors are saying.

I dunno. Supposedly my I-6 '03 325ci only has about 160 horsepower (12 years ago), and it's plenty fun. It's also huge compared to this.

It will probably make it to Europe, they have gotten a number of keis over the years. I have no doubt that American Honda management would love to sell an affordable sports car, but I think all the speculation over US sales is purely wishful thinking.

I would absolutely buy one.

150hp is MORE than enough. If it weighs less than 2000 pounds that would be insane. Have you seen it next to people? It's friggin tiny!
